The honest answer: it depends who you buy from
Many brokers have bought leads that were sold to four others, months old, or never wanted finance. That's not lead buying failing – that's bad leads.
Questions to ask any lead seller
Before you pay a cent:
- Is every lead exclusive, in writing?
- Are leads delivered in real time?
- What exactly is checked before delivery?
- What gets replaced, and what doesn't?
- Is there a lock-in contract?
Do the maths
Work out your cost per settlement, not cost per lead. A $120 lead that settles one in ten times costs $1,200 per deal. Compare that to your average brokerage.
Speed decides most of it
Brokers who call within minutes and follow up for several days get far better results from the same leads than those who call once.
